Published on 19 December 2025 and effective from 19 January 2026, T/ZZB 2125-2025 sets the terminology, classification, service conditions, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking and packing for multilayer pressure pipe whose metal layer is a butt-welded aluminium tube bonded to inner and outer polyethylene layers.
It applies to hot and cold water in heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, and it explicitly excludes pipe with an unwelded aluminium layer or without an adhesive layer.
A signal from China’s own market
“Zhejiang Made” group standards are written by industry and are generally positioned above the national baseline. Giving butt-welded HVAC pipe its own standard shows that the construction has moved from a premium option to a defined product category in China, the same direction ASTM took with F3346.
For HVAC contractors, the practical value is a clear reference to write into tenders: construction, adhesive layer and service conditions are all defined, so offers can be compared like for like.
The SUSLiD view
Butt-welded construction is becoming a category of its own in HVAC specifications. Check which construction your project names before you order; our butt-welded models carry the suffix -B.
